- SEA intends to create and be a large, loose alliance of earth activists, open to anyone who wants to participate, who work together to harness the power of group energy for creating green change in our community.
- We hope to get our towns to adopt the Earth Charter. -We will create a advocacy program to call for institutions to adopt green behavior. For example, we want a recycling center in the middle of town for convenient recycling. We can send a letter to Casella asking them for better recycling options. - We will create a vision for a Green Shires, articulate a clear vision for what we’d like to see, and then ask for community buy in. For example, Burlington has a great business called ‘Recycle North.’ Here’s how that business works: you call them, they come and pick up your old couch, they resell it cheap. We could use that business here, so we should put it out there, and try and get some local entrepreneur to start it up. - We will create a website that serves to house a local conversation about environmental activities. - we might go on a fun field trips, like to the Super fund site in Pownel!
